Jerry Rice Chases Down Heckler At Celebrity Golf Tournament In Wild Scene

NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice had a heated moment at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe after a fan appeared to heckle him. As Rice stepped up to hit his drive, someone in the crowd yelled, "Fore!" immediately after his swing. The 63-year-old football legend didn't laugh it off. Instead, he turned toward the gallery, repeatedly asking, "Which one?" before ducking under a boundary rope and jogging toward the spectators with a golf club still in his hand. A fan pointed out someone wearing green and blue, and Rice continued in that direction before eventually returning to the course. By then, the mood had cooled, with fans applauding him and shouting words of support like, "We love you!" Rice waved to the crowd and appeared to be smiling as he walked back to play.

Hannah Waddingham Starring Opposite Jason Statham In 'Jason Statham Stole My Bike'

Hannah Waddingham is set to star opposite Jason Statham in the action-comedy Jason Statham Stole My Bike, which has been filming in the U.K. and Malta since June. The movie reunites Waddingham with director David Leitch after The Fall Guy, while Leitch and Statham team up again following Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Plot details are still being kept secret, but Statham will play a fictionalized version of himself in what the studio is calling a tongue-in-cheek, PG-13 action comedy packed with big stunt sequences. The film is scheduled to hit North American theaters on Aug. 6, 2027.

‘The Batman 2’ Delayed Again To February 2028

Fans will have to wait even longer for Robert Pattinson's return as Batman. Director Matt Reeves announced that The Batman Part II has been delayed once again and is now scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 18, 2028—nearly six years after the first film debuted in 2022. Reeves revealed the new date while sharing the first camera test footage of Pattinson back in the Batsuit. The sequel adds Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch to the cast, although story details remain under wraps. Warner Bros. says the delay gives Reeves more time to complete post-production, following an earlier postponement from 2026 to 2027.

‘Mayday’ Trailer: Ryan Reynolds Is Stuck Behind Enemy Lives In Cold War Buddy Comedy

Ryan Reynolds heads behind enemy lines in the first trailer for Mayday, Apple TV 's new action-comedy movie premiering September 4. Reynolds plays Lieutenant Troy "Assassin" Kelly, a U.S. Navy pilot whose secret Cold War mission over Soviet territory goes terribly wrong, leaving him stranded in Russia. Instead of becoming a prisoner, he's rescued by an unlikely ally—Nikolai Ustinov, a gruff former KGB agent played by Kenneth Branagh, who patches him up with some less-than-ideal battlefield surgery and develops an unexpected friendship with the stranded American. The film blends action, comedy and Cold War espionage as the odd couple works together to get Kelly home. The cast also includes Marcin Dorocinski, Maria Bakalova and David Morse. Mayday was written and directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, with Reynolds also serving as a producer through his Maximum Effort banner.

‘Digger’ Trailer Unveils Tom Cruise's Crusty Oil Baron

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Digger, a new film starring Tom Cruise and directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu. Cruise undergoes a dramatic transformation to play Digger Rockwell, a rough-talking, overweight Southern oil tycoon who may have triggered a global environmental catastrophe—and is then called on by the U.S. president, played by John Goodman, to help save the planet. The film blends political satire, dark comedy, and disaster drama, with Iñárritu describing it as a story where "Mother Nature loves motherf***ers." Cruise said the role is unlike anything he's done before, comparing it to past transformative performances and noting it took decades of experience to fully embody the character. Shot in VistaVision with cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, Digger arrives in theaters on October 2.

Brad Pitt's Daughter Zahara And Son Maddox Take Final Steps To Remove Dad's Last Name

Brad Pitt's daughter Zahara and son Maddox have each filed legal petitions in California to remove "Pitt" from their last names, according to court notices published ahead of scheduled hearings in September. If approved, they would become Zahara Marley Jolie and Maddox Chivan Jolie. Zahara has already been using the name "Zahara Jolie" publicly for several years, while siblings Shiloh and Vivienne have also stopped using Pitt's surname in recent years. It's unclear whether their brother Pax plans to make a similar legal change. The filings come amid the longtime family estrangement that followed Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's highly publicized split in 2016. While sources close to Jolie say the strained relationships are a result of Pitt's past actions, sources close to Pitt maintain that he hopes to rebuild relationships with his children over time.

Sam Neill, star of ‘Jurassic Park,’ Dead At 78

Legendary New Zealand actor Sam Neill, who starred in ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘Peaky Blinders,’ died Monday in Sydney, Australia at age 78, his family said.

“It is with immense sadness that the wh?nau of Sam Neill share the news of his passing,” said the statement posted to the actor’s Instagram page, using the M?ori word for extended family or community.

“The loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free,” said the statement.

Neill had battled a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer but revealed in April he was cancer free.

“Sam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterized his whole life,” said the statement. “The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital for their incredible care.”

“More details will be shared later, but for now, on behalf of the family, we ask that you respect their privacy as they navigate this immeasurable loss.”

The acclaimed actor starred in dozens of films and television series over his genre-spanning, five decade career, including the Oscar-winning film “The Piano,” but he is best known for playing the iconic Dr. Alan Grant in Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park.”

“It’s been a very happy, surprising life,” Neill told CNN in 2023, on the 30th anniversary of the movie’s release.

“I never expected to have a career in film at all, or even as an actor. But it kind of happened, and no one’s more surprised than me.”

Fellow New Zealand actor Karl Urban said Neill was “an inspiration for many who followed in his trailblazing footsteps. A beautiful man, A national treasure who gave so much to New Zealand and the to world.”

‘Not afraid of it’
Neill was born in Northern Ireland and immigrated to New Zealand’s South Island at age 7. He was awarded many accolades throughout his career, including the Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1991 and a knighthood from New Zealand in 2022.

When he was presented the Screen Legend Award at the 2025 New Zealand Screen Awards he accepted the honor with his characteristic self-deprecating charm:

“If you stick around long enough, you probably, you know, qualify, and I’ve been just sort of sticking around.”

Neill had a rich life outside of Hollywood, largely spent on his sprawling New Zealand farm. He famously named his farm animals after Hollywood icons, many of them becoming unwitting icons on Neill’s social media pages.

“I love to name as many of my animals as possible after my friends,” he told Vulture in 2019. “It doesn’t always end well. Meryl Streep was killed by a ferret recently. I found her as a pile of feathers one day.”

He was a passionate environmental activist, and in early 2026 released a short documentary opposing a proposed fast-track, industrial goldmine in New Zealand’s Central Otago region.

It was in his beloved rolling Otago hills where he started his own organic winery, Two Paddocks, back in 1993, with a mission to produce a good pinot noir that his friends and family would enjoy.

“Frankly, my friends will pretty much drink anything, so this didn’t seem too hard,” Neill said, according to the Two Paddocks website.

In 2023, Neill revealed he had been diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma and underwent chemotherapy.

He wrote his memoir ‘Did I Ever Tell You This?’ in a few months while receiving treatment in 2022.

In a 2024 interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) he said he was not afraid of dying but it would be “very irritating.”

“I’m not in any way frightened of dying,” Neill said. “I’d be annoyed because there are things I still want to do. Very irritating, dying, but I’m not afraid of it.”

Neill jokingly described his family life as “somewhat haphazard” because of his international acting career.

He had four children: Tim, his son with ex-wife Lisa Harrow; Elena, his daughter with ex-wife Noriko Watanabe; Maiko, Wanatabe’s daughter from her first marriage who Neill adopted; and Andrew, who was put up for adoption but who he later reunited with; as well as several grandchildren.

Ryan Reynolds' Decision To Open New Gin Bar & Distillery In Portland Ends In Disaster

Aviation American Gin has closed its Portland tasting room and visitor center after just four years in business. The venue, which held its final tasting on June 28, was opened to promote the gin brand co-owned by actor Ryan Reynolds, who once described it as "Disneyland for adults." The closure comes as parent company Diageo faces declining U.S. spirits sales. The company said the decision was made after "careful consideration" and reflects changing business needs, while emphasizing that it remains committed to growing the Aviation American Gin brand. Production of the gin has been moved to another facility outside Portland. Reynolds has been involved with the brand since 2018, and Diageo acquired Aviation American Gin in 2020, with Reynolds continuing as a co-owner.

Patrick Dempsey Says He Gave Real Thought To U.S. Senate Run In Maine, But Decided Against It

Patrick Dempsey says he seriously considered running for the U.S. Senate in Maine but has decided against it. In an op-ed, the actor said he believes he can make a bigger impact through his existing work, including the Dempsey Center, rather than by holding public office. His name had surfaced as a possible Democratic replacement for Senate nominee Graham Platner, whose campaign has been thrown into turmoil following a sexual assault allegation that he denies. While Platner has paused his campaign, he has not officially withdrawn. Dempsey used his announcement to call for leaders who prioritize humility, honesty, empathy, and public service, saying elected office should be about improving people's lives—not seeking power. With the deadline for replacing the Democratic nominee approaching, several other Maine political figures are reportedly considering the race.
