At the Tri-County Animal Shelter:

195922-Meet George, a 1-year-old guinea pig with big opinions, adorable little squeaks, and a serious commitment to salad time. This tiny potato-on-legs has lived with kids before and knows how to charm a room with his cute piggy noises and snack enthusiasm. George is searching for a new home where the salad is crisp, the snacks are plentiful, and his daily “wheek wheek wheek!” announcements are fully appreciated by his loyal subjects.

If your home could use more tiny footsteps, veggie crunching, and soundtrack-quality squeaks, George may be your guy. Stop by to meet him during adoption hours, Monday-Friday 11am-4pm and Saturday 10am-3pm.

34001-Freddie has one goal in life: obtain belly rubs by any means necessary. At 10 months old, this sweet Shepherd mix is basically a professional cuddle enthusiast wrapped in floppy legs and happy tail wags. Sit on the couch? Freddie appears. Bend down to tie your shoe? Freddie rolls over. Make eye contact for half a second? Congratulations, you’ve activated Belly Mode™. He’s a goofy, loving boy who’s ready to find a new home where he can hand out kisses, follow his people around like a fuzzy shadow, and collect the tummy scratches he believes are required at least 47 times a day. Stop by to meet him at the Charles County Animal Care Center.

193020-Orange Crush is here to report that life is better with toys, snacks, and long naps. At 10 months old, this fun boy is powered by zoomies, crunchy treats, and the irresistible urge to attack dangling toys like they personally offended him. One minute he’s racing around the room in full goblin mode, the next he’s curled up on the softest blanket he can find like a tiny, toasted cinnamon roll. Orange Crush is looking for a new home where the toy supply stays stocked, the treats keep flowing, and someone appreciates a cat with equal talent in both professional snuggling and chaotic entertainment. Meet him during adoption hours, Monday-Friday 11am-4pm and Saturday 10am-3pm.

At St. Mary's Adoption and Resource Center:

Meet this sweet beauty named Blanca! This girl is very nervous when first meeting new people but will quickly adjust given time. Blanca does not appear confident in herself just yet. She depends on her human for comfort and will need a family that will help her become more confident! Due to an incident in her previous adoptive home, we would not recommend Blanca be adopted into a home with other dogs, cats or small animals. She is extremely timid, and young children may frighten her. This girl is looking for someone, preferably with GSD experience, that can build her confidence and provide her with a safe and patient home. Adoption applications can be submitted in person at the St. Mary's County Animal Adoption & Resource Center located at 22975 FDR Blvd California, MD 20619 View all adoptable animals here: https://www.stmaryscountymd.gov/animalshelter/Adoptable/

Meet Goldberg. Let’s Get Goldberg (aka Gilbert) Home!
How is this amazing boy still waiting?! Goldberg has been looking for his forever home for over a year… and we just know his perfect family is out there. His foster mom lovingly calls him Gilbert—and says he is perfect in every way. And honestly… we agree.
At 4 years old and 60 pounds, this handsome low-rider is the total package:
Knows all his commands
Crate trained
House trained
Walks beautifully on leash
Playful, friendly, and great with kids
Gilbert loves to play and have fun, but when playtime is over, he’s all about the cuddles. His foster mom says he settles in like a pro and would make an incredible family dog.
And here’s something extra special—Goldberg has many fans, and one of them loves him so much they’ve offered to sponsor his adoption fee!
He’s been patient. He’s been ready. Now he just needs you.
Let’s not let him wait any longer—Goldberg deserves his forever just as much as any pup.
