At the Charles-County Animal Care Center:
Meet Beau!
Beau is sweet, playful, and has a very important mission in life: defeat all yarn-based projects. This tiny aspiring knitter has a personal vendetta against knitting and considers every unfinished scarf, blanket, or yarn ball to be his next great adventure. Honestly, we’ve never seen a more adorable nemesis.
When he’s not conducting “quality control” on knitting projects, Beau is busy chasing lasers, making friends with adult cats, giving giant snuggles, and charming the big kids (the toddler received a cautious side-eye review).
If you’re looking for a kitten who will bring love, laughter, and possibly help you “finish” your knitting by unraveling it, Beau is ready to join your family! Meet him at the Charles County Animal Care Center.

Meet Daisy, our adorable pot-bellied pig who's ready to trade shelter life for a place to call home! She'd love a family that appreciates snorts of approval, happy wiggles, and the occasional piggy zoomie. Daisy is proof that happiness comes with a curly tail and an impressive talent for convincing you she hasn't been fed in at least 47 minutes. If you've been dreaming of adding a little extra "ham-or" to your life, Daisy is ready to hog all the love. Come meet this oink-tastic girl and let her bring home the bacon... of happiness! Meet her during adoption hours, Monday-Friday 11am-4pm and Saturday 10am-3pm.

Meet Blue!
At just 2 years old, this handsome Doberman has life pretty well figured out. Doggy door? Nailed it. Crate? No problem. Toy collection? Absolutely Essential. Blue loves hanging out inside with his people, is great with kids, tolerates sharing his kingdom with a cat (he won't write the cat a glowing performance review, but they coexist), and is always ready for the next game or adventure. If you're looking for a loyal best friend with movie-star looks, goofy charm, and enough love to fill your whole house, Blue is ready to make himself right at home... preferably on the comfy side of the doggy door. Meet him at the Charles County Animal Care Center.

At St. Mary's Adoption and Resource Center:
Meet this sweet beauty named Blanca! This girl is very nervous when first meeting new people but will quickly adjust given time. Blanca does not appear confident in herself just yet. She depends on her human for comfort and will need a family that will help her become more confident! Due to an incident in her previous adoptive home, we would not recommend Blanca be adopted into a home with other dogs, cats or small animals. She is extremely timid, and young children may frighten her. This girl is looking for someone, preferably with GSD experience, that can build her confidence and provide her with a safe and patient home. Adoption applications can be submitted in person at the St. Mary's County Animal Adoption & Resource Center located at 22975 FDR Blvd California, MD 20619 View all adoptable animals here: https://www.stmaryscountymd.gov/animalshelter/Adoptable/

Meet Max
Meet Max — the zoom is strong with this one. If you're looking for a cat with nine lives' worth of energy, Max is ready to spring into action. This young guy has mastered the art of the zoomies and can turn any room into his own personal playground. When he's not bouncing from toy to toy, Max is busy soaking up attention from people or making friends with other cats. He's equal parts entertainer, cuddle seeker and social butterfly.
Life with Max is anything but boring — he'll keep you laughing, smiling and wondering where he gets all that energy. Ready to maximize the fun?
Nettle is a handsome 3 years 8-month-old terrier mix who is a very easy keeper and is happy to just be with you. He loves playing ball or just hanging out with you watching your favorite movie. He loves to go for a car ride and would make an awesome companion. He is house trained, and crate trained and knows all his basic commands. If interested in meeting Nettle, please submit an application on our website.

Meet Pebbles
If you're looking for a loyal best friend with soulful eyes, floppy ears, and a heart full of love, we'd like to introduce you to Pebbles! This sweet 4-year-old Beagle weighs 15 pounds and is everything Beagle lovers adore—friendly, affectionate, curious, and always ready to brighten your day. Found as a stray, Pebbles is now safe with us and hoping the next stop on her journey is a forever home. Pebbles has the kind of personality that makes everyone smile. Whether she's following her nose on a walk, soaking up attention, or curling up beside you after a fun day, she's happiest sharing life's simple moments with someone to love. We also discovered that Pebbles is heartworm positive, but please don't let that discourage you. We'll take care of her heartworm treatment. All Pebbles needs is a loving family willing to open their hearts and give her the second chance she deserves. Sometimes the very best dogs need a little extra help before they begin their happily ever after, and we know Pebbles perfect family is out there. If you'd like to meet this beautiful Beagle girl, please submit an adoption application through our website. Let's show Pebbles that being rescued was only the beginning of her happy ending.
